about

*£1 from each album purchase will be donated to The Royal British Legion

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, this immersive and poignant new project sees Marc Canham collaborate with Scarlett Raven and Marc Marot fusing fine art, digital art, music and the spoken word.

Each piece of music created is the soundtrack to a unique painting, and each painting unlocks the world of augmented reality and digital art. By stripping away the layers of paint, going beyond skin deep, The Danger Tree reveals stories of the past through the words of the war poets and the fallen.

The exhibition is touring the UK throughout 2018.

Marc Canham: "Marc Marot introduced me to Scarlett in 2016 when they showed me the Flanders Field painting - I was mesmerised by this fusion of fine and digital art. The paintings are explosions of colour, but beneath the layers of paint the augmented world comes to life - telling these important stories in the words of those who experienced it first hand - an experience that shreds your emotions...”

“Colour has always been a huge influence on me, often dictating the overall tone of the music... this combination with vivid imagery and the spoken word creates something unique and immersive - hopefully reminding us of the important lessons we need to learn from the past.”

about

Marc Canham Oxford, UK

Inhabiting the space
where the acoustic and synthetic
co-exist.
Creating music
From objects, synths,
guitars and other curiosities.
From Abbey Road
to his studio workshop,
blurring the boundaries
between live recording
and studio ‘magic’.
Making the organic otherworldly
and the electronic alive.
Looking beyond the notes,
capturing what hides
between them.
